Why this entity files separately
Adviser to the US iShares ETFs and BlackRock's other registered fundsThis book is the iShares complex. It moves when authorized participants create and redeem ETF shares — visible daily in a fund's shares outstanding — and when an index reconstitutes. That is a different driver from BlackRock Institutional Trust Company, which runs the same index strategies as collective investment trusts and separate accounts for retirement plans, on a plan sponsor's timetable rather than the market's. Same portfolio team, same stewardship team voting the shares; the split is the client vehicle, not the investment decision, which is why some reports combine the two under this entity. Worth keeping apart anyway: a position can move in one book and not the other, and which one moved is the useful fact. BlackRock reports them as separate books — of the 8,204 holdings lines naming one of these two entities on BlackRock, Inc.'s Q2 2026 13F, none named both.
